Causes of Obesity

Just like there is no weight loss pill or single “magic potion” diet plan to cure obesity there is no single cause of obesity.

We are living in an age of two income families, job loss, stress, and time constraints. It makes it difficult to prepare and eat healthy foods. The ad agencies, the big food companies, and the 35 Billion dollar diet plan and diet supplement industries are taking full advantage of the American people’s need for instant gratification.

Obesity often gets its start in childhood. Obesity becomes a problem for children and this problem often continues as the child becomes older.

There are some things you can do to prevent obesity in children. Childhood and adolescence is difficult enough without adding obesity to the mix.

Some parents think it is cute when a young child will eat anything and lots of it. It may be cute for awhile but this can lead to obesity. Other times parents use food as a reward and this can also be a problem. Find other ways to reward a child.

I used to interview elite bodybuilders on their training and eating for a living and did this for years and years. One reoccurring theme that kept popping up when talk turned to diet/nutrition was how much food top bodybuilders packed away on a daily basis. These men taught their bodies how to handle continually greater amounts of calories without becoming fat. Contrast this with the typical obese person who eats one meal a day and adds body fat at the drop of a hat. I am working with a crew of obese folks and having great success using modified bodybuilder eating tactics to help the obese lose body fat.

In a strict sense, obesity is a disease and a major health crisis. In this fast paced world, this problem is prevalent among everyone from a growing child to an adult. Obesity is an excess of body fat or adipose tissue that can lead to major health problems like heart disease, diabetes and cancer. If this problem is given a light look and left unchecked, it could shorten the life expectancy.

Yoga is a one of the oldest exercise of ancient times. Yoga is not only an exercise but it can cure your body imperfection and increase the concentration power of your mind. To know about yoga it’s important to know the meaning of yoga first. The name yoga is really simple but it has so many features. It can cure your body imperfection like kyphosis. Kyphosis is the limitation in which the spine angles in ‘C’ shape. This defect generates due to wrong sitting habits. In yoga there are so many asnas which can cure this defect e.g. bhujang asana. Bhujang means positioning your body in a Snake like position. By practicing bhujang asana any one can cure this defect.

Recently the Federal Trade Commission had asked the US Congress for an increase in their annual budget of 13 million. Although you would not expect the agency to be involved in the issue of Childhood Obesity, they are and even touted their efforts to Congress as priority of the agency and reason for additional funding.
